Project Description

The EPDM roof on Building 0558 – Men’s Dormitory reached the point where replacement was necessary.  The scope of work for this design build contract included a complete design and construction for the removal of the existing EPDM roof and insulation down to the concrete deck and installation of a new, cold applied, 2-ply modified bitumen SBS membrane system complete with new tapered rigid insulation. The design included complete plans and specifications including all details coordinated with the existing conditions on all of these buildings. The extent of work is described in Part III and IV of this scope of work.  Roof design met current allowable wind loads for Roswell, New Mexico and complied with the Executive Order 13693, “Planning for Federal Sustainability in the Next Decade” and “Guiding Principles for Federal Leadership in High Performance and Sustainable Buildings.” All work was accomplished in accordance with the NRCA.  The physical work necessary for this approximately 8,200 square foot project will included the demolition and disposal of the existing roof and installation of the new roofing products including all flashings, roof drain and overflow drain adjustments, gutters and downspouts, and accessories necessary for a complete system.
