Project Description
The City of Galena, Alaska experienced extensive damage to its power distribution system as the result of May 2013 flooding and ice flows. The purpose of this scope is to repair critical components of the power distribution system, to return the system to full functionality, and provide electricity to the residents of Galena. The general description of the work is to furnish all equipment, labor, materials, and supervision needed to accomplish the following as described below: Straighten, set and anchor 52 wood power poles, remove and replace three 35 ft. wood power poles, remove and replace three 45 ft. wood power poles, remove and replace 10 ea. guy wire anchors, remove and replace three LED street lights, remove and replace three LED street light arms, repair 35 cross arms, replace 50 linear feet of steel guard rail, and bury 500′ of power distribution line at Alexander Lake.
